Railnova has a very skilled and entrepreneurial team, and to help us to further disrupt the railway industry and accompany our clients in their digital transformation journey we’re looking for a Supply Chain Manager.

Job description

Railnova is currently setting up a team responsible for the overall supply chain to deliver cable kits and Railsters to our customers. To enable efficient and scale-up operations, the supply chain manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the supply chain and purchasing operations to maximize the process efficiency and productivity. You will manage a team of 3 and report to the Supply Chain Lead. You like to organize and plan activities from A to Z, from purchasing raw materials until delivery of products to our customers. You love collaborating with engineering teams, production teams, finance, etc, to maximize the value we are creating for our customers. You appreciate walking the floor to solve issues quickly. You quickly identify and communicate about the potential consequence of issues towards the stakeholders. You are capable of navigating from the high-level global picture of the customer's delivery requirements to the details of the purchasing of electronics raw materials. You are customers oriented. Operational responsibilities:

  • Identify potential suppliers through market analysis.

  • Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate new contracts.

  • Define supply chain capacity planning.

  • Liaise with the sales to define customers priorities and with technical teams to follow up on the engineering status.

  • Determine and follow-up of supply chain KPIs

  • Suggest solutions for process improvements

  • Identify process/delivery bottleneck/blocking issues and implement solutions in a timely manner

  • Collaborate with the supply chain team for the incoming material inspection.

  • Raise and solve material issues such as missing components, longer lead time, wrong deliveries, etc.

  • Create, change and document the procedure and processes to improve the overall supply chain.

Here are some examples of activities we performed recently to give you a better idea about the position:

  • Change of the ERP to add functionalities enabling better productivity.

  • Review the blocking issues for production and agree with the production and engineering teams on how to solve them.

  • Review the missing material and call suppliers to have an update on the situation when the due date is overdue.

  • Update the customers delivery planning to find the global optima

  • Communicate about the changes in the planning with the sales account managers

  • Review the production priorities to fit with the updated customers delivery planning

  • Compute and order the material requirement based on the status of the engineering

  • Document the change of process in the Wiki

  • Solve unknown material coming in from customers with the Customer Success team.

  • Review the production and engineering capacity for the next 3 weeks.


  • Master degree in engineering, supply chain or other related fields
  • 5 years of experience in an industrial/railway/automotive company is considered a plus
  • Systemic view on processes and impact of actions in the different workflows
  • Experience in people management: You will follow and engage with your team’s personal and professional growth
  • Excellent collaboration skills with a proactive mindset
  • A knack for problem identification and solution finding
  • Proficient French & English written and spoken
  • Good knowledge of Excel and ERP software
  • Good digital proficiency: we are a digital company; our way of working and the tools we use reflect this
  • Hands-on approach with a bias for action to get things done
  • Great communication skills
  • Good time management skills
